Acceptable Use Policy

Effective August 13, 2026 ยท Last updated August 13, 2026

This policy explains how to use Orvelt responsibly. It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to the consumer platform, Orvelt Business, apps, widgets, APIs, and related services.

1. Scope

Use Orvelt lawfully, honestly, and with respect for other people, businesses, rights holders, and the security of the service. You are responsible for the content and activity associated with your account, anonymous session, business workspace, or API key.

2. Prohibited content and conduct

You must not use Orvelt to:

  • create, upload, publish, or distribute illegal, fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, threatening, hateful, harassing, abusive, obscene, or exploitative content;
  • create or distribute child sexual abuse material, sexualized content involving minors, or content that exploits or endangers a child;
  • infringe, misappropriate, or violate another person's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, contractual, fiduciary, or other rights;
  • impersonate a person or organization, misrepresent an affiliation, fabricate an identity, or manipulate account ownership;
  • threaten, extort, retaliate against, blackmail, coerce, stalk, dox, or target a person or business; or
  • use content or activity to manipulate rankings, reputation, analytics, moderation, business outcomes, or public opinion through deception.

3. Opinions, ratings, and evidence

  • Submit opinions, ratings, answers, comments, receipts, photos, and business statements only when you have a good-faith basis for them.
  • Do not knowingly submit false, fabricated, materially misleading, or altered content or evidence.
  • Do not offer, request, or accept payment, gifts, discounts, benefits, or other incentives to create, suppress, alter, or remove an opinion unless the activity is lawful, clearly disclosed, and expressly permitted by Orvelt.
  • Do not submit coordinated, bulk, automated, or campaign-driven content intended to skew ratings, rankings, moderation, analytics, or business decisions.
  • Do not use a private-opinion workflow to send threats, confidential third-party material, or information you have no right to disclose.
  • Do not claim that Orvelt verified a fact, purchase, identity, or outcome when it did not. Verification signals can be incomplete and are not guarantees.

4. Privacy and personal data

Follow our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws when you submit information. You must not:

  • upload Social Security numbers, passport or driver's-license numbers, payment card data, financial account numbers, health information, authentication secrets, or other highly sensitive information unless a lawful Orvelt workflow specifically requests it;
  • publish or disclose another person's private or identifying information without a lawful basis and the right to do so;
  • submit personal data about a customer, employee, child, or other person without the notices, permissions, and legal basis required for the submission; or
  • use Orvelt to surveil, stalk, dox, threaten, or expose a person.

5. AI-assisted features

Orvelt may use AI-assisted transcription, receipt extraction, suggested titles, moderation, and fraud signals. These systems can be inaccurate or incomplete. You must review output before relying on it, publishing it, or using it in a decision.

  • Do not submit content to an AI-assisted feature unless you have the right and authority to have it processed.
  • Do not use AI-assisted features to make or recommend high-risk automated decisions about employment, housing, credit, insurance, healthcare, legal rights, education, or access to essential services.
  • Do not represent AI-generated text, transcription, or other output as verified fact or human-created material when that distinction matters.
  • Do not use Orvelt output to train, fine-tune, benchmark, or build a competing model, dataset, reputation profile, or service without written permission.

6. Technical and platform abuse

  • Do not scrape, crawl, mirror, frame, harvest, index, or systematically extract service data by automated means except through documented APIs or written authorization.
  • Do not interfere with, disrupt, degrade, overburden, or bypass rate limits, quotas, access controls, security features, authentication, moderation, or payment restrictions.
  • Do not upload malware, ransomware, spyware, malicious code, deceptive scripts, harmful links, or material designed to compromise a device, network, or data.
  • Do not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, probe, scan, or penetration test Orvelt or its providers without prior written authorization, except where applicable law permits the activity and the law cannot be waived by contract.
  • Do not share API keys or credentials, create accounts by automated means, evade a suspension, or use multiple accounts to avoid enforcement or payment.

7. Commercial restrictions

  • Do not resell, sublicense, redistribute, or commercially exploit private opinions, restricted business outputs, or API access except as permitted by an applicable plan or written agreement.
  • Do not use Orvelt for unauthorized advertising, spam, lead generation, mass solicitation, or phishing.
  • Do not use the service to build a competing dataset, reputation product, or intelligence service without Orvelt's written permission.
  • Keep business member, customer, and contributor information secure and use it only for lawful, disclosed business purposes.

8. Enforcement and reporting

Orvelt may investigate suspected violations, restrict distribution, remove or preserve content, block access, revoke keys, suspend features, terminate accounts, cooperate with providers or authorities, and preserve or disclose records where appropriate or required by law. We do not promise to detect every violation, and a failure to enforce this policy in one instance does not waive our right to enforce it later. We may consider context, severity, repetition, legal risk, and safety when deciding what action is appropriate.

Report abuse or safety concerns to [email protected]. Send copyright and other legal complaints to [email protected]. Send privacy concerns to [email protected]. Include enough detail for us to understand and investigate the report.
